Evan Diebus

I have attended Wakefield School for four years and will graduate in May, 2017.  I enjoy playing golf, so I figured I would write about one of my favorite golfers and what he has done over the course of many years on the PGA Tour.  There are many interesting facts in the game of golf but especially regarding Tiger Woods. The most interesting thing that I have found would have to be his record in PGA tour tournaments. A lot of different players when each season but no one has ever come close to matching the same of tournament victories that Tiger Woods has. In my speech there is a lot of information and I was worried that it would be too much and not very entertaining considering it is just about Tiger Woods. To improve my speech, I most likely would've attempted to engage the audience better and make sure I had their attention by making them want to listen. The pro writing app on Google docs really helped with word choice in many different paragraphs throughout the speech and persuasive essay to make it better. It's easy to just get up and show a PowerPoint and talk about it for a little bit but it was much more difficult to have the PowerPoint and to be able to answer questions at the same time. I structured my lesson the way I did because I figured each slide transition into something more specific that followed. I would've added more detail especially regarding Augusta National and the difficulty of the course.

Five Thesis Questions:

  1. How did Tiger help break the color barrier?

  2. How did Tiger perform in his first Masters victory?

  3. How does Tiger stack up to other golfing legends?

  4. Will Tiger be remembered as the greatest to ever play the game?

  5. Don’t you want to swing like Tiger?
